GOALS
Civic Youth Orchestra parents and staff have
developed goals that are flexible,
adjustable, open and responsive to new
ideas, information and resources.
They reflect the thoughtful attitude CYO maintains toward the
development of children as successful adults, as well as
ensemble musicians. The following is a brief description of
these goals.
Education and Performance.
To provide an opportunity for instrumental
music students up to age 20 to grow in
competence and flourish as ensemble
musicians.
Competitive Excellence.
To excel as a
youth orchestra program in the county, the
region, the state, the nation, and the
world.
Community Outreach.
To encourage children not involved in the
Civic Youth Orchestra program to attend
concerts, to listen to orchestral music, and
to learn an instrument.
Governance.
To strengthen
the CYO organization to ensure the success
of the program.
